Otto Samuel Meyer was born on March 2, 1854. He was oldest son of Rudolph and Kalama Meyer. He was educated by his father and formally at Aliiolani School in Honolulu. His job was to be the accountant of the family. After RW Meyer's death in 1897, Otto was made manager of Molokai Ranch as well as overseeing the family agricultural enterprises.
In December of 1889 Otto married Maggie Ann McCorriston. Maggie was the daughter of Daniel and Ann McCorriston of Kamalo. Together Otto and Maggie had eight children: Marguerite Amalia, Alberta Inez, Otto Samuel Jr., Annie, Emma, Dorcas Kalama, Henry Pendergast, and Charles Schleiffer. Otto Samuel Jr died on the 4th of July 1910 in a hunting accident at Kaohu and the fifth child, Emma, died at the age of 3 from accidental poisoning.
Otto S. Meyer died on February 26, 1931 at Queen's Hospital in Honolulu from a heart condition. Grandma Maggie died in October of 1963.
